Event technology
Rent event technology for your wedding
For a wedding you usually need a PA system for the ceremony and speeches, a DJ or music setup for the party, atmospheric lighting (uplights) and, optionally, low-lying fog for the first dance. A coordinated package costs around 300 to 600 € per day as Dry Hire, depending on the number of guests – with delivery and setup on request.
The technology plays a big part in whether the celebration runs smoothly: during the ceremony, speeches and music need to be intelligible everywhere, while in the evening the dance floor should have plenty of punch without overwhelming the neighbouring tables. We'll put together a setup that suits your venue, guest count and schedule – as a pure equipment rental or fully set up.
For a free-form ceremony or the drinks reception, a compact active set with a wireless microphone is often enough; for the evening party, subwoofers, DJ gear and effect lighting come into play. When it comes to sound, it's better to plan in a little headroom – a full dance floor quickly sounds strained if the power is too tight.
The classic choice for the first dance is low-lying fog: it stays close to the floor and creates the "dancing on clouds" effect. It's important to clear this with the venue in advance – dense low fog can set off their smoke detectors and fire alarm.
The right gear
These categories suit this occasion – available as Dry Hire:

|---|---|---|
| Ceremony / reception | Active PA + wireless microphone | Speeches & music intelligible |
| Dinner / speeches | PA with mixing desk | Background music & announcements |
| Party / dancing | PA with subwoofer + DJ setup | Punch on the dance floor |
| Atmosphere | Battery uplights + effect lighting | Show off the venue |
| First dance | Low-lying fog machine | "Dancing on clouds" effect |
Planning tips
- Clarify the venue's power supply early on – is a standard socket enough?
- Always clear low-lying and dense fog with the venue in advance – smoke detectors can trigger.
- Battery uplights need no cables and are ideal for hard-to-reach walls.
- For an outdoor ceremony, think about weather protection and enough headroom for wind.
Frequently asked questions
What does event technology for a wedding cost?
A coordinated package of PA, DJ gear, uplights and low-lying fog usually costs around 300–600 € per day as Dry Hire. Delivery, setup and on-site support come at an additional charge.
Does the DJ need their own gear or do we rent everything?
Both are possible. Many DJs bring only a laptop and controller and use our PA and lighting on site. On request, we provide the complete setup.
Can we set up the technology ourselves?
Yes, with Dry Hire everything is prepared plug-and-play. If it gets larger or time-critical, we'll take care of delivery and setup.
